At Atlassian, I led the growth product team for Loom to deliver user growth and $10's of millions in revenue to Atlassian. Loom is an asynchronous video messaging tool that was acquired by Atlassian for $975 million.
My team implemented key features that improved product led growth (PLG) through smart product bets and rapid experimentation with a focus on acquisition, activation, and monetization of users.
At WhatsApp, I led a team of product managers to both build privacy-related features that billions of users would enjoy and handle the global regulatory response for WhatsApp. This included features such as Disappearing Messages, Chat Lock, and Privacy Checkup. Additionally, I led global regulatory response including major regulations such as the Digital Markets Act, which included developing interoperability with third party chat services.
By most measures, WhatsApp is the most popular app in the world!
During my 10 year tenure at Capital One I delivered many product improvements as well as contributing signficantly to Capital One's technology transformation. Highlights include: being a part of the founding team of Capital One Labs, leading Bank Research & Development, and serving as the Head of Growth for the bank.
My teams were some of the top patent-producing teams in the bank and our product changes led to over $1 Billion in incremental deposits for the institution.
Oh the fun early days of the internet! After starting my careeer at AOL as a software engineer, I switched to product and led a team responsibile for AOL Instant messenger. We shipped a lot of things taken for granted now, such as typing indicators and online status. Additionally, I was responsible for our social networking offerings in the days of MySpace and early in Facebook's rise. I have a lot of stories from those days which are bound to come out if you know me for very long.
I hold a Computer Engineering degree from Virginia Tech as well as a degree in Economics. I also completed a Design Thinking Bootcamp from Stanford University Executive Education.
